Where We Work
Matisi Ward – Grasslands
Kitale, Kenya
Located within Matisi Ward on the outskirts of Kitale, Grasslands is one of several growing communities in Trans-Nzoia County. Like much of the surrounding region, it is shaped by rural life and open land, where families depend on small-scale agriculture and daily access to natural resources to survive. While less densely populated than nearby Kipsongo, many households in Grasslands still face significant challenges — especially when it comes to accessing clean, reliable water sources.
The Filter Project has already assessed 2,580 homes in Grasslands, revealing both the scale of the need and the opportunity to make a lasting impact. In a community where daily life is closely tied to the land and its resources, access to safe water can transform health, stability, and the future for entire families. This campaign will require $142,000 to complete. This includes ticketing, distributions, and all 3 follow-up visits, along with any other spiritual discipling needed for each household.
Interested in visiting the Matisi Ward Grasslands with us?
We plan several trips a year to check in with our indigenous workers, plan for future projects, and work on logistics while in country. We love to have potential donors join us on these trips to see our work first hand and how this mission is changing lives.
