Kenya Field Update – Wednesday, November 5th
Today was a day filled with celebration, joy, and eternal impact. It was both distribution and baptism day — one of the most powerful days we’ve experienced this week.
We were joined by our friends from Crossroads Baptist—Scott, Peg, and Mark—who brought encouragement and helping hands to the field. Together, we distributed 40 water filters to families in need, and witnessed 49 individuals publicly declare their faith in Jesus Christ through baptism. Each person baptized also received a Bible, a symbol of their new life and the foundation of their faith.
Follow-Up Visits
After the baptisms, I joined Johnston and Lucy as they conducted follow-ups in the field. At one home, several neighbors had gathered, eager to listen as the team shared the Gospel. It was beautiful to see parents and children alike hearing God’s Word together. Their attentiveness and joy were contagious. Before we left, we handed out lollipops to all the children—a small gesture that brought big smiles.
Ministering to Church-goers
Our next visit was with a family who attends church but when we asked the mother about salvation, she responded, “By going to church, being a good person, and helping the poor.”
We gently explained that while those are wonderful things, none of them can earn salvation—it is only through faith in Jesus Christ. We shared the Gospel with her and her son, and the Holy Spirit moved powerfully in that conversation. When we asked if she had a Bible, she told us she did, but could not read it.
Through God’s provision, we were able to give her an audio Bible, allowing her and her family to hear the Word of God in their own language. It’s amazing how technology can be used to spread His truth and reach hearts that might otherwise be closed.
Closing the Day
As always, we ended the day with our team meeting, reflecting on what God had done and sharing stories from the field. These moments of unity, prayer, and thanksgiving are some of the most meaningful parts of our time together.
It was a day of transformation—clean water, new believers, and the living Word of God flowing into homes and hearts.
One family. One filter. One soul at a time.
